Why I Built a Desktop Email Automation Tool Instead of Another SaaS

As developers, we default to SaaS.
Cloud, dashboards, subscriptions.

But not every problem benefits from being cloud-first.

Email automation is deeply tied to:

  • IP reputation
  • provider limits
  • sender behavior

Putting that behind a shared SaaS layer introduces risk and opacity.

I wanted:

  • direct SMTP control
  • transparent sending logs
  • local data ownership

So I built a desktop-first email automation engine.

The result:

  • lower costs
  • fewer surprises
  • better deliverability

It’s not for everyone.
But if you care about owning your infrastructure, desktop tools still make sense.
