Four months ago, I started a small weekend project with one simple goal: help my friends stop yelling โMy Mac is full again!โ ๐
What began as a quick script to clear cache files turned into Disk Clean Kit โ a full-featured macOS app that helps everyone keep their Mac clean, fast, and organized.
It works great for everyday users, developers, and creatives alike.
The Inspiration
I’m surrounded by friends โ designers, developers, and content creators โ who constantly run out of storage.
Whether itโs Xcode, Figma, Final Cut, or Photoshop, these tools eat up gigabytes fast. Most โcleanerโ apps out there are slow, confusing, or hide features behind subscriptions.
So I thought โ why not build a clean, modern, privacy-friendly alternative that just works?

I wanted it to feel native โ lightweight, smooth animations, and no clutter.
The main dashboard gives an overview of your storage and one-tap access to each cleanup tool.
Challenges
Getting sandbox permissions right on macOS was tricky.
Also, balancing safety with usefulness took a lot of testing.
Lessons Learned
Shipping > perfection โ the 1.0 wasnโt perfect, but it started real feedback.
macOS dev is fun again with SwiftUI.
The indie community is amazing โ their feedback helped me iterate fast.
