Taking a break helped me get back to my side project

I stopped posting for a while because college exams took most of my time.

Before exams, I had been building Aniotako, a personal anime tracker with watchlists, episode notifications, and airing schedules.

Once exams were over, I jumped back into the project, but things kept breaking. I spent more time fixing problems than building new features, and after enough frustration I put the project aside for a little over 10 days.

Yesterday I opened it again.

The code didn’t magically become easier, but taking a break changed how I looked at the problems. I started making progress again instead of feeling stuck.

I’m curious how other developers handle this. When a project starts fighting you every day, do you keep pushing through or do you step away for a while?
